Empowering Children and Families with Hearing Loss

The Dawn Chorus Foundation is committed to creating a world where every child with hearing loss has access to the support, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Our mission is simple yet profound: to support children and families with hearing loss through various initiatives aimed at raising funds, providing guidance to educators and caregivers, and supplying essential equipment for their care.

Our Mission

At the core of our foundation lies a deep-seated commitment to improving the lives of children with hearing loss and their families. We believe that every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential, regardless of their hearing abilities. Through our multifaceted approach, we strive to:

At age 8 months, Marc & Rachel’s second child was diagnosed with progressive, unilateral sensorineural hearing loss. Their world was turned upside down. As young parents, they were forced to reconcile the future they imagined for their children, and a future that seemed as uncertain as ever. Gradually, over time, their son lost all of his hearing in the affected ear, while maintaining the ability to hear on the other side. Thankfully, he continues to do well, thanks to his incredible team of caregivers, including his audiologists, speech therapists, and educators. He also has relied on necessary technologies in order to accommodate his hearing loss, including hearing aids and sound fields, for example. Based on their experience, Marc and Rachel have committed to doing whatever they can to support children and families embarking on a similar journey as their son’s.

The Dawn Chorus Foundation was thus created to provide financial resources to similar organizations serving children with hearing loss, to provide guidance to educators and caregivers of children with hearing loss, and to supply equipment to families and institutions essential to the care of children with hearing loss.
